About Crystal
I am a singer and songwriter who has performed around NYC in various settings, has been teaching in NYC for about 5 years (independently and with different companies), and I also have experience working with children. I have a BFA in Jazz and Contemporary Music from the New School, and have studied with instructors such as Jamie Leonhart (singer/songwriter), Nick Hakim (NPR “Green Twins”), LaTanya Hall (Steely Dan), Kevyn Lettau (Jazz Vocalist), Claudia Acuña (Jazz Vocalist), and many more. I loving helping students developing a healthy technique and constructive habits to strengthen their own unique voice.

I work to help students find freedom, strength and flexibility, discover new ways of using their voice, let go of tension, and experiment with their vocal and emotional expression. I believe that a supportive and encouraging teacher is key, and I strive to be attentive, sensitive, adaptive, and a great listener to my students.
