My Teaching Approach as a Music Teacher
As a Trinity Grade 5 piano graduate and choral teacher, I focus on making music both disciplined and enjoyable. My teaching style blends structured learning with creative exploration, so students not only master techniques but also learn to express themselves confidently through music.
Teaching Techniques and Methods
I use a step-by-step approach to introduce theory, rhythm, and practical skills.
For piano, I emphasize finger exercises, scales, sight-reading, and graded repertoire.
For choir, I work on breathing techniques, vocal warm-ups, harmony building, and blending of voices.
I encourage ear training and improvisation so students can connect deeply with music.
My classes often include interactive activities like group singing, clapping rhythms, or call-and-response exercises.
Usual Structure of a Class
1. Warm-up – finger drills or vocal warm-ups to prepare body and voice.
2. Revision – reviewing previously learned material for reinforcement.
3. Core Lesson – introducing new concepts (songs, techniques, or theory).
4. Practice & Application – students try out pieces, harmonies, or exercises.
