About Hassan
I'm a third-year Computer Science student with completed coursework in Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
I've also applied C++ in project work, including building a Candy Crush-style game using SFML. Working on a larger project taught me a lot about turning programming concepts into something that actually works: structuring code, managing program logic, debugging unexpected behaviour, and breaking a bigger problem into smaller parts.
I know how frustrating C++ can feel when the lecture makes sense but the code doesn't — especially once pointers, recursion, classes, data structures, and compiler errors enter the picture. I've worked through those same topics as a CS student, and I've also helped classmates and friends understand programming concepts and debug their code.
My approach is to explain what the program is actually doing rather than asking you to memorise syntax. With C++, that often means tracing variables, drawing memory diagrams, following function calls, and breaking an algorithm into smaller steps before we implement it.
I'm best suited to complete beginners, high-school students learning programming, and university CS/engineering students working through introductory or intermediate C++, OOP, pointers, recursion, data structures, algorithms, debugging, or small programming projects.
I don't claim to know every corner of C++. If you're working on a specialised topic, send me the material beforehand. I'll review it first and tell you honestly whether I'm the right person to help.

These lessons are designed for beginners and CS/engineering students who understand C++ when someone explains it, but struggle to turn that understanding into working code.
You might be stuck on pointers, OOP, recursion, data structures, compiler errors, an introductory algorithm, or simply wondering how to begin when you're looking at a blank file.
My lesson method is: Visualize → Trace → Implement → Debug.
Visualize
We first turn the concept into something concrete. For topics such as pointers, references, recursion, linked structures, classes, or object relationships, I can use a digital whiteboard to draw memory, execution flow, and how the different parts of the program connect.
Trace
Before writing a large amount of code, we step through what should happen. What does each variable contain? Which function runs next? What changes in memory? What should the loop or recursive call produce?
Implement
You write the code while I guide you with questions and smaller steps. The goal is not for you to watch me type a finished solution. It's for you to understand how to build the solution yourself.
Debug
When the code doesn't compile or behaves incorrectly, we work through it together. We read the error, inspect the relevant code, form a hypothesis, test it, and fix the problem. Debugging is treated as part of learning programming rather than something to avoid.
A typical 60-minute lesson combines focused explanation, hands-on coding, debugging, and time for your questions. When useful, I'll also leave you with one short practice task based directly on what we covered.
I can help with C++ fundamentals, functions, arrays, classes and objects, OOP, pointers and references, recursion, common data structures, introductory algorithms and DSA, debugging, and university programming concepts.
If you're building a small project, I can also help you break it into manageable parts — planning classes or components, separating program logic, debugging behaviour, and deciding what to build next. I've gone through this process myself while working on a Candy Crush-style game using C++ and SFML.
You can bring your own code, lab topic, project, error message, or assignment concept. I'll help you understand the problem and work through your own solution rather than simply handing you completed assessed work.
Before the lesson: send me what you're currently learning or stuck on. I'll review it beforehand so we can spend the lesson working on the actual problem instead of figuring out the context from scratch.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I usually don't comment, but I would really recommend Hassan as a teacher. His teaching methods are really what a student requires. Covering the material in depth while also focusing on the practical aspects of things is a skill a very few people possess. His teaching methods not only help understand things clearly, but also keep them retained. Learning through this approach can really help us save both of our time and effort.
I know Hassan Abaid as a dedicated and helpful Computer Science student and a friend. We have worked together on academic tasks, and I have seen how clearly he explains concepts, especially for beginners.
He is patient, supportive, and makes learning easy to understand. I highly recommend him as a tutor because he genuinely cares about helping students improve and succeed.View more recommendations

Free 30-minute intro
Tell me what you're currently learning or stuck on before we meet. We'll identify the main difficulty, discuss your goal, and decide what would be most useful to work on first. There's no obligation to continue.
Single lesson — $12/hour
Start with one full lesson before committing to a pack. This is a good option if you want to try my teaching style, understand one difficult concept, debug your code, prepare for a lab, or work through one focused programming problem.
5-hour pack — $50 ($10/hour)
Best for working through one connected area in more depth, such as pointers and memory, OOP, recursion, data structures, introductory DSA, or several related university topics.
10-hour pack — $90 ($9/hour)
Best for students who want regular support across several topics, structured practice, or help progressing through part of a programming course or small project.
You don't need to purchase a pack before trying an individual lesson.
