About Sam
I hold a B.S in Mathematics and M.S. in Statistics. I bring a depth of knowledge and real-world experience that directly benefits students seeking assistance in math and statistics. I’ve been described as personable and engaging. My passion for teaching and tutoring is long standing and coupled with strong skills in communication, adaptability, and patience. Students have given me positive feedback on my ability to help them break down problems and make it easy to understand. I’m open to working with students ranging from elementary school to college.
I have two years of experience as a Professional Tutor and Supplemental Instruction Leader in higher education. During that time, I provided personalized assistance to students in various math courses, ranging from Algebra to Calculus III. Sometimes I would tutor students in groups as large as five at a college math center. I have also taught College Algebra for one semester as a Mathematics Instructor at a community college. This included grading the coursework, holding office hours, and creating a syllabus. Other positions I’ve held include that of Data Engineer and Data Analyst for two and a half years. All of these experiences have not only refined my ability to convey complex concepts effectively but have also allowed me to tailor my tutoring approach to cater to the diverse needs of students.
