About Shakella

Hi, I am Shakella, I aspire to one day be a Secondary school Sociology teacher. The reason i want to be a teacher is because during secondary school and sixth form i had the most wonderful teachers supporting me no matter how much i was going through in my personal life. They pushed me as hard as they could for me to succeed and reach my potential. I want to one day have the same impact on my students that my teachers had on me. I am ambitious and work incredibly hard for my students to achieve their goals in education and it brings me extreme joy being able to be apart of the process.

About the lesson

I take a hands-on approach, am very patient and supportive when it comes to teaching. I major in sociology and psychology and will push my students until they reach their full potential and are happy with themselves. I base my lessons on whatever the student struggles with the most and will not move on until i am fully sure that they understand the topic Im tutoring them on. I first teach them and ensure they are confident in their knowledge and notes, I then do practice exam style questions in which will be open book (notes allowed), and then i will do practice exam style questions/papers which will be closed book (no notes allowed) I will then mark their work to assess whether they are confident in their knowledge and are doing well with the topic.
