About Shake Ibna
I have carefully reviewed the position and believe that my research and teaching experience is a strong match for your position. I am currently working towards a Master’s degree in Mathematics at Western Kentucky University. I am expected to graduate in May 2024.
As my resume shows, I have extensive teaching experience in a variety of courses that cover pre-calculus, calculus, algebra, trigonometry, analysis, and even graduate-level courses. In total, I have taught six different courses and over 500 students. My teaching experiences have allowed me to work with students from a variety of backgrounds. Many of the discussion sections I have led were not simply a review of lecture material, but rather a supplement to the lecture with new concepts that students were responsible for on homework, quizzes, and examinations. Further, I have experience writing homework sets, quizzes, and exam questions, and I am fully capable of developing course curricula. I encourage students to share their own mathematical thoughts with one another through group discussion section activities. I am comfortable teaching large lecture classes and have had the opportunity to give lectures to Calculus classes with over 60 students. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated an ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to my field.
