About Eva

I'm a gap year student who recently returned from a year in Europe, where I spent over 3 months in France speaking almost constantly in French, staying with several families, and taking every opportunity I could to improve. As such, I've gained a thorough understanding of the language and native communication styles, from which students will benefit. Personal enjoyment and creativity are core parts of my teaching style as I aim to inspire students to connect with their learning. I emphasise engaging with French media and culture as a critical way to gain connection, interest, and motivation. For me, French has been a life-changing skill which has opened up my world to so many new opportunities, people, ideas and ways of expression - I'd love to help someone else experience the same.

About the lesson

1 - 2 hr lessons focused on experimenting, gaining confidence, addressing weaknesses, and applying skills.
Depending on student goals, exam strategies can also be involved.
The teaching will centre on conversation-focused immersion around understanding and responding to French media such as articles, books, films, and games. Activities could involve:
- identifying language patterns
- developing French thinking and knowledge through understanding common language bases
- experimenting with structures and phrasing
- pronunciation practice and clarification
- methods of approaching HSC exam sections
There will be a focus on tailoring teaching methods to suit student needs and target weaknesses, and an emphasis on cultivating personal learning habits.
