About Francesca Silvia

I passed the entrance test at the Politecnico di Milano, engineering, in the fourth year of Liceo Scientifico. Immediately after the high school exam, I passed several entrance tests in Medicine: at Humanitas in Milan (7th place in the ranking), at Alma Mater Bologna Medicine in Italian, at San Raffaele in Milan medicine in Italian, and for medicine in English at the International Medical School of the Statale Milano, which I chose as my course of study and which I attend in the third year. I also passed the test for access to economics in English at the Cattolica in Milan, and in Medicine in English at the University of Milan Bicocca the year after the first, preferring to stay at IMS. English language level, British B2 / C1 level diploma.

About the lesson

Different people, with different learning and memory approaches, have to use partly similar, partly different methods. It is important to teach the common root of the study method, from organizing the programs of different subjects to the study plan and searching for the correct material in time, and from the use of specific mnemonics, necessary in the university study of medicine, up to techniques and styles of study, and suitable for people of different "Chronotype" (morning or evening) ... It is important that the tutor interviews, listens to and knows the student, to cut out and propose a method that is as tailored as possible , and the first free meeting is dedicated to this. For the tests for access to medicine and engineering, one meeting after the first is enough to give a clear picture of the work to be done and the attitudes to be used, as well as the weaknesses to improve. In a demanding study, we are a machine with strengths and weaknesses that are different from each other: the advantages must be exploited to the maximum, the defects possibly weakened. Tutoring is important for those who face the admission tests, as for those who then start the course of study (which involves completely different problems) to arrive as soon as possible at a suitable and effective method. Absolutely discouraging the use, as often happens nowadays, of psychotropic drugs to improve prolonged concentration skills at the cost of significant side effects over time. Often the aspect of the method, the organization, the timing is taken lightly, but the reality is that focusing it as soon as possible, with the help of a young tutor who has recently faced the same problems on his skin, allows you to proceed faster and more serene, and save precious years and have the best chance of success.
