• Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  Later than normal I would say, it was only at university that I had my first real contact with programming and was intrigued (but equally confused, I must confess). I mean... when I was a teenager I messed around with HTML to customize my social media page, but that doesn't count, right? :P
  I don't know if it was my first experience with a computer, but one of the first and most memorable ones was definitely playing Super Mario after school!

• What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  100% Artificial Intelligence - no brainer! It's already incredible and will continue to revolutionize the tech world for many years to come.

• Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  There is no way to escape Artificial Intelligence, it is no longer just the future but also part of our present. If you can't beat them, join them :D
  It's a super interesting, powerful area with so much to explore, never a dull moment!

• Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  I have others, outside the tech world. But those had a clear vision of their goals and the confidence to go get them, which is indeed inspiring.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  Despite having worked directly with the final product, I never broke production! Yet...

• What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  Everything can be learned, it's just a matter of curiosity to start and consistency to keep practicing until you reach the point where the pieces fit together and everything starts to make sense :)

• What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  Travel, travel and more travel! Alone or with someone, you'll often find me at the airport waiting for the first morning flight to somewhere new!

• What makes you a Superprof in IT?

  I leave it up to each of my students to answer this question, only they will be able to describe the impact that my mentoring had on their academic and/or professional lives.
