About Lara
I have over ten years of experience working with children ages 5-12 in afterschool, tutoring, and camp settings.
I also work with older students on structuring academic writing, developing college application essays, preparing of AP exams, or simply on strengthening their study skills in the humanities!
I hold a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from Wellesley. During college my academics focused Shakespeare and dramatic literature.

I offer tutoring in reading, writing, and literacy for all ages!
My students can expect a warm and nonjudgemental presence as I strive to offer them both concrete skills, and increased confidence in their writing abilities.
Many young people who struggle with writing and literacy struggle with a lack of confidence (or with having had internalized the message that they were "bad at" writing!) I hope to help students develop confidence and clarity in their own voices and ideas!
