I use a mix of the Socratic method (asking guiding questions rather than giving direct answers) and hands-on practice. For technical subjects, I follow a "concept → example → practice → application" flow — first explaining the idea, then working through a solved example together.
First 5 minutes: quick recap of the previous session and check on any homework/practice
Next 20–25 minutes: introduce new material with examples
Next 15–20 minutes: guided practice, where I watch the student work and correct misunderstandings in real time
Last 5–10 minutes: summary of what was covered, and a preview of what's next plus any homework.
I adapt explanations to the student's interests (e.g., using sports statistics to explain probability, or gaming examples to explain algorithms)
I track progress across sessions with notes, so I can spot recurring weak points and adjust the plan
I give honest, constructive feedback rather than just encouragement — students know where they actually stand.
