About Bader
I studied Computer Science at the University of Westminster, graduating with a First Class Honours degree, before going on to complete a Master's in Information Security at University College London, where I was awarded a Merit. Academic writing has always been a big part of my life, from lengthy dissertations to research heavy assignments, so I know exactly what's expected at that level and how daunting it can feel from the other side.
For nearly a decade since, I've worked professionally in cyber security, a field where being able to explain complicated, technical ideas clearly and simply is just as important as understanding them in the first place. A large part of my day to day work involves writing reports, presenting findings to senior leadership, and translating dense technical detail into something a non specialist can actually follow and act on. I've also mentored and trained colleagues throughout my career, so guiding someone through a new skill and watching them grow more confident is something I genuinely enjoy, not just something I say in an ad.
I take spelling, grammar and clear communication seriously, in my work and in these lessons; it's the whole reason people come to me for CV, thesis and writing support in the first place. You can expect lessons that are well prepared, professional and focused entirely on your goals, whether that's building confidence in everyday English, polishing a piece of creative writing, or getting an important piece of writing over the line.

My approach is pretty simple; I teach around what you actually need, not a fixed course structure. In the first lesson we just chat about where you're starting from and what you want out of the lessons; whether that's more confident everyday English, help with a piece of creative writing, getting a thesis chapter into shape, or putting together a CV that actually gets you interviews. From there I build a plan around that goal, rather than working through a generic textbook.
The lessons themselves are practical. We use your own writing wherever possible; a CV draft, a dissertation section, a short story you're working on, whatever you bring me, and we go through it together, line by line if needed. I'll explain the grammar or structure behind any changes I suggest, but the priority is always getting your writing to actually work, not ticking off rules. For CV and cover letter work especially, I bring a very practical, employer's perspective; I've recently gone through the process of rewriting my own CV and cover letters for job applications, so I know what actually gets read and what gets skipped.
I try to explain things in plain English, without jargon; that's something I've had a lot of practice with, since my day job involves explaining technical subjects to people who aren't specialists.
Lessons usually run for an hour, which tends to be enough time to check in on progress, cover something new, and actually practise it properly. I'm happy to do shorter 30 minute sessions for quick proofreading or exam prep, or longer 90 minute sessions if we're doing a deep dive on a thesis chapter or CV rewrite.
I teach a broad range of people; teenagers working on their English literacy or creative writing, university and postgraduate students who need help with academic writing, and adults or job seekers who want focused support with CVs and job applications. All levels are welcome, from complete beginners building confidence to advanced students refining something specific.

- Who it's for: Teenagers, university and postgraduate students, adults and job seekers
- Lesson length: 60 minutes typically, with 30 or 90 minute sessions available on request
