About Sana

Hello, I'm Sana, a medical student at UCL. Does your child dread lessons at school? Or anything that the teacher says just doesn't make sense to them? If it does, don't worry! I am a dedicated tutor that is here to help students to gain confidence, master key concepts and achieve their academic goals. My experience volunteering at a primary school for a year, and mentoring for GCSE students has allowed me to understand that every student is different and each and every one is capable of reaching their full potential by working together with the student to help them learn in the way that suits them. I strive to ensure that students are engaged with the work, and that they enjoy learning. Having 9 A* at GCSE and A*AA at A-level have equipped me with the skills to support students to adopt a 'think like an examiner' approach, with learnings of mark scheme and essay plans, all of which are often the most important steps in jumping up grades. In addition, I have mentored 11+ students, helping them to be successful in entering their dream schools. These experiences have helped shape me to become a more supportive, dedicated and effective tutor. My GCSE exam boards include Edexcel, AQA and OCR.

About the lesson

My lessons are engaging, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. I like to begin by identifying areas that need improvement and building a clear plan together to strengthen those topics. Each session focuses on understanding concepts deeply rather than just memorising facts — I use exam-style questions, mark scheme analysis, and interactive discussions to help students learn how to “think like an examiner.” I always aim to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make mistakes, as that’s how real learning happens. By breaking down difficult topics into simple, manageable steps and celebrating progress along the way, my lessons help students not only improve their grades but also rediscover their confidence and enjoyment in learning.
