About Sonal

I am a gap year student, using my year to build new experiences and would be privileged to use my time to help other students in subjects I have struggled with. I have consistently challenged myself through my time at school and have been proud of my achievements. I hope to encourage the students in the same way and motivate them by praising their progress.
I will study medicine at university which requires maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Biology and elements of Chemistry which I maintain through tutoring. My interest in these subjects also benefit my tutoring approach.

About the lesson

As a private tutor, I have previous experience tutoring different subjects and have had a variety of previous clients. I also tutor for the school I studied at, helping students that have fallen behind. These students have enjoyed their experience as I attempt to make my teaching style unique to every student. I have developed the skill of understanding topics and being able to explain them effectively through practice. I have become experienced in planning sessions and following a timetable.

I enjoyed the experience of being able to share my knowledge with younger years and help them gain an understanding of the more difficult topics. I can convey ideas and topics from a student’s point of view which could be more beneficial for the younger years.

Maths is a hard subject at GCSE and A-level. I hope to cover the whole specification to identify students' weaknesses, then focus time on these topics through example questions and walk-throughs. I then use past paper questions so the student can consolidate their learning through exam-style questions.

I have spent a considerable amount of time making my notes suitable to different specifications. I hope to share these resources with my students, unique to each exam board.

I am confident in using apps like Teams and Zoom and have plenty of experience with online tutoring and written communication. I can use my knowledge of technology to help students make the most of their online learning experience.

My sessions are usually one hour long and for anyone up to the age of 18. This can cover Primary school, GCSE and A-level.
