About Daniel
I am an incoming History student at UCL and recently graduated from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme with 39 points, achieving Grade 7 in Higher Level Chemistry, History and Global Politics.
Having completed the IB myself, I understand both the academic challenges and the exam techniques required to succeed. My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop a genuine understanding of chemistry and the confidence to apply their knowledge independently.
I prepare every lesson carefully, tailor my teaching to each student's needs and provide clear, constructive feedback after every session. I am patient, approachable and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

My chemistry lessons focus on building a deep understanding of concepts rather than memorising facts. I believe students perform best when they understand the underlying principles, allowing them to confidently tackle unfamiliar exam questions.
Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs and typically lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged for exam preparation. Lessons usually begin with a review of previous material before introducing new concepts through clear explanations, worked examples and interactive problem-solving. We then reinforce learning using exam-style questions and mark schemes, ensuring students develop both subject knowledge and strong examination technique.
Having recently completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, achieving a Grade 7 in Higher Level Chemistry, I have first-hand knowledge of the current syllabus, common misconceptions and the skills required to achieve top marks. I also have a strong mathematical background, which helps students with the quantitative aspects of chemistry, including stoichiometry, equilibrium calculations and energetics.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE Chemistry, Combined Science, and IB Chemistry (SL and HL) students, generally aged 14–18. Whether a student is aiming to improve their confidence, strengthen fundamental understanding or achieve the highest grades, I adapt my teaching to help them reach their goals.
