About Bryan
As a tutor, my approach to teaching is individualized, empathetic, and holistic, with a focus on building understanding and confidence in my students.
Teaching Method and Techniques:
I believe in the concept of active learning. Rather than rote memorization, my teaching techniques involve problem-solving, engaging discussions, and practical applications. I use real-world examples wherever possible to help students see the relevance and usefulness of what they're learning. For computer science, we might dissect pieces of code or even write some together. For mathematics and statistics, we'll tackle problems together until the principles behind them become second nature.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson begins with a review of previous material, followed by an introduction to new topics, and then guided practice. I use the end of each session to answer any outstanding questions and set clear objectives for the next meeting. Homework might include problem sets or reading to solidify understanding.

What differentiates me as a tutor is my unique blend of academic expertise (with a dual major in Linguistics & Computer Science from UCLA) and my genuine passion for teaching. I also have a first-hand understanding of the college transfer process, particularly within the UC system, offering valuable insights to aspiring transfer students.
