Emily’s teaching approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual goals, learning style, and level. Lessons are designed for beginners through advanced students, including children, teens, and adults. A typical lesson incorporates technique building, repertoire development, sight-reading, and musicianship skills, with clear short- and long-term goals to encourage steady progress.
In addition to instrumental instruction, she also teaches music theory, which is a vital part of the music learning process. A strong foundation in theory helps students read music confidently, understand structure and harmony, and become more independent musicians.
Students who are interested may also choose to participate in MTAC and National Guild evaluations. These performance opportunities play an important role in musical development, as they provide clear goals, encourage consistent practice, and motivate students to perform at their highest level.
Whether a student is in the beginning stages of building strong fundamentals or an advanced musician refining technique and expression, Emily strives to create lessons that help students grow in their confidence, discipline, and musical journey.
