About Amani
Hi, my name is Amani, and I am an undergraduate Medical Sciences student with a strong interest in science, education, and helping students build confidence. As a student who has maintained a 4.0 GPA, I have developed a strong understanding of chemistry, biology, anatomy, physiology, statistics, and general science. I enjoy making challenging topics feel more understandable and less overwhelming.
My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and supportive. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and working through concepts step by step. I focus on explaining ideas clearly, using examples, and adapting my approach to each student’s individual needs and learning styles. My goal is to help students move beyond memorizing facts so they can truly understand science concepts, apply what they learn, and feel more confident in their ability to succeed.

My name is Amani, and my approach as a tutor is patient, supportive, and student-centered. I believe that science becomes much easier when difficult concepts are broken down into simple steps and connected to examples students can actually understand. My goal is not just to help students memorize information, but to help them build confidence and understand the “why” behind what they are learning.
In a typical lesson, I would begin by asking the student what topic they are working on, what they already understand, and where they feel stuck. From there, I would review the concept using clear explanations, visuals, examples, or practice problems depending on the student’s learning style. I like to check for understanding throughout the lesson by asking questions, having students explain ideas in their own words, and working through practice questions together. At the end of the session, I would summarize the main takeaways and suggest what the student should review next.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am encouraging, approachable, and able to relate to students who may feel overwhelmed by science. As an undergraduate Medical Sciences student, I have a strong background in biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and general science. I understand that science can feel intimidating at first, so I focus on creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe asking questions and making mistakes.
My lessons are best suited for high school students studying biology, chemistry, and general science, as well as students in entry-level university science courses who want extra support with foundational concepts, study strategies, test preparation, or a clearer understanding of the course material.
