About Matilda
I am a Physics with Astrophysics student who values understanding over memorisation and clarity over shortcuts, and that mindset is exactly why I want to teach. Throughout my degree, I’ve learned that real learning happens when complex ideas are broken down carefully and explained with respect for the learner, especially for students who feel capable but overlooked. Through outreach, mentoring, and designing interactive science lessons, I’ve seen how the right explanation can transform confusion into confidence, and that moment of realisation is what motivates me. Teaching allows me to turn my own experiences of grappling with difficult concepts into something useful, by supporting students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, to recognise their ability, develop confidence in STEM and believe that they belong in scientific spaces.

I typically teach ages 11-18 from GCSEs to A-levels.
