About Chloe
I am a college Biology student on the pre-med track with a strong academic background in science and mathematics. Through my coursework, I have gained experience in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, and other STEM courses. In addition to my coursework, I am involved in undergraduate research in the fields of synthetic biology and molecular biology, which has given me hands-on experience applying scientific concepts in a research setting. I understand how challenging these subjects can feel when concepts do not immediately click, and I enjoy helping others make sense of difficult material.
As a tutor, I am patient, encouraging, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions. I believe that making mistakes is an important part of learning, and I focus on helping students understand how to approach a problem rather than simply giving them the answer.
I am organized, dependable, and prepared to adapt each session to the individual student's needs and learning style. My goal is for students to leave our sessions not only understanding the material better, but also feeling more confident in their ability to succeed independently.

My approach as a tutor is to make learning feel less overwhelming and help students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize it. I like to break difficult concepts into smaller, more manageable steps and explain them in different ways until we find an approach that works best for the student. I also encourage students to work through problems themselves while I guide them, give hints, and help correct mistakes along the way.
A typical lesson would begin with identifying what the student is struggling with or would like to review. From there, we would go over the main concepts, work through an example together, and then have the student try similar problems with my guidance. I like to end sessions by reviewing the most important ideas and making sure the student feels more confident working independently.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I understand how frustrating it can be when a subject does not immediately make sense. I am patient and willing to explain something multiple ways instead of repeating the same explanation. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students feel okay asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.
My lessons are best suited for middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students, particularly in science and math courses. As a college biology student on the pre-med track, I am especially comfortable helping with biology, chemistry, introductory physics, and other foundational STEM subjects. I can also help students develop better problem-solving and study strategies that they can use beyond a single class.
