I am currently studying exercise science and psychology at UW-Madison, but I also have a passion for math, music, and sports. I come from 2 generations of math tutors, and have a few years of experience of tutoring my peers in high school.

In the education world, the above quote may be a cliché, but it is true nonetheless. I am well aware that every student is different, and that they all have their own abilities, interests, and learning styles. I make sure to first get to know my students and how they learn, and design my lessons with all of this information in mind.
With that being said, I believe it is important to set realistic goals, while encouraging and motivating my students along the way. Each tiny goal reached is another milestone in the bigger picture, and I make sure to be as involved as possible along the way to the finish line.
Finally, it is vital for my students to understand the practicality of what they are learning and establish a "why" to the content. If learning feels like a tedious chore to my student, then I have already failed as a teacher.
