About Youssef
I'm a student of International Relations and Philosophy of Language at the University of St. Andrews with extensive experience in learning languages and teaching English. I speak Arabic, English and Italian fluently and know more than enough to get around with French and Spanish. I have taught English to students with formal education in English that wanted to introduce themselves to those parts of the language which are not learned in the classroom (culture, literature and life abroad) but I'm also able to teach English at an Elementary level as a tutor complementing a class curriculum. I like to listen to the student's needs and adapt my approach accordingly to ensure not just learning but a positive experience with the language (which is the best way to learn!).

My approach to teaching is based on conversing with the student in order to identify any weaknesses and adapt course material based on their personal needs. My lessons typically range from 1 to 2 hours based on student preference. My ability to teach English stems from learning the language as a secondary one and continuously developing it in order to write, read and speak at an academic level. I have pursued this interest by becoming a student of Philosophy of Language at the University of St. Andrews. I have also taught many friends and students the foundational skills and material which allow the student to gain the good grounding required to pursue learning on their own behalf. My goal with teaching is not just to increase proficiency in grammar but also to allow the student to be comfortable with different ways in which the language is used and to address any insecurities in spoken and written English.
