About Izzy

Hello! My name is Izzy and I am currently studying to become a teacher. Teaching has always been a passion of mine because I love helping children grow in confidence and discover their own strengths. While English is my main subject, I am confident teaching all areas of the Primary National Curriculum and enjoy adapting my approach to suit different learning styles. I aim to create engaging, supportive lessons that make learning enjoyable and help students make steady progress.

Outside of teaching, I am passionate about sports and musical theatre (my favourite is Hamilton). I love watching live performances and exploring new sports- ice skating is my favourite to take part in, but I enjoy the atmosphere of any live event. Another hobby of mine is playing the piano, which I find calming and enjoy learning new songs when they get released!

About the lesson

My approach to music tutoring focuses on creating a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs. I use a combination of practical exercises and creative exploration to help students develop technical skills, musical understanding, and confidence in their abilities. Lessons are designed to be interactive, incorporating listening exercises, performance practice, and structured guidance to ensure steady progress. I adapt my teaching style to suit different learning preferences, whether students benefit from visual aids, step-by-step demonstrations, or learning by ear.
A typical lesson lasts 45 minutes-1 hour for allowing time for warm-ups, focused practice, and performance review. . My lessons are suitable for beginner learners who wish to build skills, confidence, and a love of music.
