About Natasha
My name is Natasha. The main reason that I am interested in teaching is because I simply want to help another person and I believe that each and every student has the ability to learn. I am a final year student at one of the Universities in South Africa, I'm majoring in English and Afrikaans. I'm tutoring a 10 year old girl and it's only been 2 weeks but there's already a significant improvement. I try to take a relaxed approach and some days we sit and talk but my requests are: please say more, express yourself. Try to use synonyms. I believe that if you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day but if you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime. You can be confident that I will teach you English so that you are able to learn it and teach someone else as well.

My teaching methods are student-centered, this allows the learner to have a role whereby they are more active during the teaching and learning session, they can stop the teacher at any time if there's lack of understanding. From time to time, learners will be given an opportunity to select their own topics. Another teaching method is to reread for fluency, to break down letters as we form the words.
I will offer lessons on comprehension, spelling, pronunciation and grammar. I am a native English speaker. Learners can typically expect to read a story, tell the teacher what the story is about and then the teacher and the learner can discuss the main points of the story. A learner can also expect some idioms or proverbs during lessons, I believe that Idioms and proverbs have deep meaning and etches a memory in the minds of people. My lessons are aimed at students who want to learn to read fluently, who might be struggling with spelling and pronunciation. my lessons will also be aimed at students who want to read to comprehend.
