I am a proactive tutor that will engage you on what you're writing about and the logical progression of your work. I am blunt; I will tell you exactly why I might be feeling confused, disjointed, or rushed, but also I will tell you exactly why I might be impressed, blown-away, or excited to read more. Afterward, we discuss strategies that help improve clarity and analysis. In subsequent lessons, we apply revisions we made previously and review past drafts to survey your growth.
Based on the goal of the lesson (i.e. essay structure, thesis composition, literary analysis, research-focused writing, etc.), we will focus on skill-building in smaller passages and working our way up to long-form literature/media. I am most familiar with higher education literary assignments and expectations, so I am prepared to give insight to high school students seeking writing proficiency above their current level.
