I am a University of Cambridge Graduate in modern languages, currently studying for an MA in History of Design, tutoring English an French. An experienced tutor, I like to tailor my lessons to the student, building on skills and abilities they already have.

Working as an English tutor and French tutor, across a variety of age groups and learning levels. I have a good knowledge of the English Literature and French GCSE and A-Level syllabi, and feel that one area of particular importance was stressing the need for self-belief as well as skill or knowledge.
For example, I employed a range of pedagogical techniques to help raise one child’s grade average at English GCSE from a 3 to a 6. Increasing his confidence, making him realise that he was capable of a higher grade, was key in helping him achieve that. In the long run, I also wanted him to go forward knowing he shouldn’t feel ashamed to express his thoughts on any particular subject.
Lessons are typically between an hour and an hour and a half long, and can be tailored to the student.
