About Emily

Hello, I’m Emily — a professional tutor with a PhD in English Literature and over a decade of experience supporting students in higher education. I’ve taught undergraduate courses at university level, including lectures and seminars, and have worked extensively one-to-one with students on their essays, dissertations, and research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. We’ll look closely at how to plan and structure essays, organise your ideas effectively, and ensure each paragraph contributes to a clear, persuasive thesis. I also support students in developing their own critical voice — so they can move beyond description and into confident, original analysis.
