About Emily
I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2021 with a degree in Creative Writing & Literature. I've worked as a camp counselor, special ed instructional aide, writing center tutor, and (most recently) middle school English teacher. I'm passionate about creative expression, literacy, and social justice. In my free time, I love listening to music, thrifting, and spending time with my sweet cat.

I've been thoroughly trained as a writing center tutor - at the high school and college level - and use a variety of techniques to help guide you to the best solutions. I ask a lot of questions and believe firmly in this model of teaching: I do, we do, you do. I love doing close reading practice, grammar exercises, brainstorming sessions, to name just a few areas I cover. My lessons are perfect for you if you are in any kind of English Language Arts, English as a Second Language, Writing, Composition, or Literature class. I'm also more than happy to help you revise/edit essays for other classes! I can help with your thesis, organization, transitions, etc.
