About Matthew
Hi! My name is Matthew Yacoub. In May, I graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry with Highest Honors and a minor in Environmental Studies at the University of Michigan! I have taken several chemistry and biology courses, including Honors Organic Chemistry I and II, Intermediate Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Graduate-level Organometallics, Introductory and Advanced Biochemistry courses, Physical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Introductory Biology, Structural Biology, and Genetics. Additionally, I have completed math classes up to Calculus II, and I have taken an Honors Math class exploring concepts in Calculus III, IV, and Linear Algebra. I have completed all of these courses with either an A+ or an A, and I have developed a deep understanding of the content covered by each of these courses. Additionally, I graduated with a 3.986 GPA, and I earned a 1580 on my SAT in high school.
Teaching is something I am very passionate about, and I love having the opportunity to pass on knowledge about the subjects that I am passionate about to other students, as well as to help other students succeed! I have prior tutoring and university-level teaching experience in organic chemistry, and my students went on to perform wonderfully in their courses! Additionally, I have hands-on research experience in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and forest ecology. In addition to course content, I would be happy to discuss lab techniques and research in general!

My tutoring sessions are intended for college students taking introductory courses in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, genetics, and math (up to Calculus II), as well as for high school students!
My sessions will be about you, the learner. For our lessons, I would like for you to tell me the topics you want to review the most ahead of time, as well as for you to send me any specific questions you would like me to solve/address. Then, we will use our session time depending on what suits your learning the best (which we will discuss ahead of time)! I can make PowerPoint slides and guide you through a review of the content, make guided notes, make worksheets, guide you through practice problems, help you work through your homework, or anything else you think might be helpful!
In regards to SAT Prep, the sessions will focus on working through and solving SAT-like questions, similar to the ones you will see on the real exam!
My ultimate goal is to help you succeed in any way possible, and, hopefully, I can even help you develop a love for - or at least, help you not to despise - the content you are studying! I look forward to meeting you and working with you!

2) SAT Prep - $60/hr; $290/5 hr; $580/10 hr
