About AVNEET

Hi! I'm Avneet, I'm a Law student who studies English Literature, Psychology and Business Studies at A level. I would love to share my passion for both a level and gcse subjects with new students and help them progress with their studies, whether that means gaining more knowledge or learning exam technique. I am a confident and experienced tutor because I have tutored 4-17-year-olds in Maths and English. I support my students and help them achieve their goals. I also have a detailed understanding of the university application system, including Oxbridge preparation, which means I will be able to answer any questions my pupils may have.

About the lesson

I use a student-focused approach when tutoring which means my students pick the topics that they want or need to study and use these to set specific goals for their learning. This is a great way to encourage learning because it puts the student in control and helps them to motivate themselves by having a target to study for. The general structure of my lessons depends on what areas the student wants to work on, for example some lessons may focus on learning topic content while others may focus on knowledge application through answering practice exam questions. Students will tell me what they want their next session to focus on at the end of every lesson so I can prepare personalised tasks and resources for them. At the end of each lesson I will also include a summary task or quiz which will enable me to assess my student's understanding which will be useful for planning future lessons. I will always tailor my tutoring to the student's individual learning preferences by making use of a variety of learning techniques, such as using mind maps, diagrams and videos. I will also share my revision tips and techniques which will be helpful in preparing my students for their upcoming exams.
