About Samantha

I am currently studying a bachelor of education at university and work in outside school care hours as well as coaching touch football to school students. I have given informal tutoring since completing high school successfully in 2014 to many different students. I completed english throughout school to a high standard as well as maths, biology, drama, geography and chemistry. I left school with an OP 6 and consider myself a likeable and fun person. I love working with children and I have always made valuable and reliable relationships with both children and parents. I am eager to assist students with any academic endeavours they may have.

About the lesson

Through studying education as well as working with children for over 4 years I have found many different methods I find successful in teaching children. I consider the relationship between the child and myself of the most important, and aim to build trust so that students feel comfortable sharing their work and struggles with me. I then approach my lessons openly, asking students what they like about certain subjects and what study methods they use at home. I try to incorporate these methods with my own, as I believe every student learns differently. We would then approach tasks they have been unable to complete during their set time or have found particularly difficult. At the end of a lesson I intend to test students on previous difficulties that we have worked on so that new processes and strategies are constantly enforced.
