About Francesca

I’m Francesca, and I’ve just completed my A Levels with top grades. This autumn I’ll be heading to the University of Exeter to study History. I’ve always had a real passion for essay-based subjects and I love breaking them down so they feel clear, manageable, and even enjoyable. I want to tutor because I know how much of a difference good support can make I’ve often helped classmates with revision and essay writing, and it’s so rewarding to see someone’s confidence grow when things start to click. My aim is to help students not only achieve great results, but also build skills and confidence they’ll carry forward beyond exams.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring My tutoring style is tailored, structured, and supportive. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable explanations, while also developing essay writing and exam skills for those who find exams tricky! I use a mix of discussion, guided practice, and exam-style questions to help students build both knowledge and confidence. I also encourage active engagement rather than just giving answers, I work with students to help them develop their own understanding and critical thinking. Techniques & Methodology Diagnostic questioning to identify strengths and areas to improve. Broken down and digestible guidance on essay planning, structure, and analysis. Use of past papers mark schemes, and model answers to ensure exam technique is fully developed. Encouragement of independent thinking, so students can apply knowledge rather than just memorising. Lesson Length Typical lessons last 60 minutes, but I can adapt to 90 minutes if a student prefers longer sessions for exam practice or revision. Qualifications & Experience I am currently an A Level student myself, with A* grades in History and Politics, and a B in English Literature A level. I achieved top grades at GCSE, including a 9 in both English Literature and English Language. I have experience supporting peers in both GCSE and A Level studies.
