About Patrick
I am Canadian, living and working in Bangkok Thailand. I have a BA in Education and taught 13 years here as a professional private tutor (online, in-person) I have taught in public high schools but found tutoring to be more gratifying.
Each student, I felt became my personal responsibility, and it's exactly how I approached my obligations. There was a time where I saw 38 students within a 30-day period, some had me booked 1-3 hours each lesson, multiple times during the week. I love my job, and will continue to uphold maximum professionalism whilst offering the best in personal education.

My methodology will vary depending on the needs of the student.
I have been employed to assist students lagging behind in day-to-day school curriculum, to more advanced lessons such as IGCSES/SAT/IB's exam prep, understanding university entrance exams, as a (1st year university) online assignment assistant.
When the dreaded exam time arrives (IGCSES/SAT/IB's) I utilize past papers. They assist in fine-tuning areas of difficulties, if any, assist in exam format, what is considered (A+) answer compared to a (B-), shows how to maximize top points for each question. Often discuss with students about any doubts, or queries.
As a tutor to assist students lagging slightly with day-to-day curriculum studies, I will ensure all four points are utilized to a comfortable point where the student is slightly ahead with perfect understanding.
With the subject of History, I despised it at high school, and now I teach it... I learned to teach certain periods of history in a "matter-of-fact" story form, it is easier for someone to absorb information if it is interesting...history in reality is a multitude of stories of our past.
In all situations it is important a tutor or mentor, possess four important qualities.
(Listen) hear directly from the student what they feel is the issue if any.
(Communicate) to communicate with the student a solution easy to understand, interesting and attention grabber solution to the issue, if any
(Relax) a student who is comfortable and relaxed during the lesson will absorb and engage in the lesson a lot more readily.
(Flexibility) to be able to adjust lessons and accommodate the first 3 points above.
I pride myself in all above mentioned, and my motivation comes from the success of my pupils.
