About Maggie
I am currently a 4th year student of Human Biology: Health & Disease and Nutritional Science Double Major at the University of Toronto, Downtown! Since I am in a Life Science program and have since taken many advanced physiology, histology, nutrition and a plethora of biology courses, I can confidently teach elementary and high school biology subjects whether they be IBHL, IBSL or AP biology courses. I can also give insight into reading scientific research articles if that is of interest to any students!

Every student is different; therefore I believe it is important to structure the lessons based on the student's strengths and interests. The following strategies are examples of potential techniques I would utilize in my lessons.
Biology not only requires memory retention but also extensive understanding of concepts of which aid from visualization is very useful. Without understanding the essential concepts that make up biological mechanisms, memorizing the information will become tedious and difficult. Therefore, watching an animation on glycolysis or meiosis can help students think of biological mechanisms as mini stories. I have been utilizing this strategy for years and it has helped me achieve great success in the Biology!
