About Lisbeth
I am set to graduate from the University of York with a Master's Degree in Medieval Literature. I have already graduated with my Bachelor’s in English Literature, and they couldn’t keep me away! I have had a love of reading and literature all my life and I want to spread the love. I am aware of the struggles students of all ages and stages face, and I want to be the support that means that my students can move on to the next stage of their education with confidence and pride in themselves. I used to help my fellow students if they were struggling with anything studied, and I would like to continue helping people. I am a professional person, I have been working since 16 years old. But I would now like to tailor the skills I have learnt to help people in a more specific way. I answer emails and any other communication in a timely manner, and stay polite but friendly. I also ensure that my behaviour suits the student's age, I won’t patronise a 17-year-old A Level student but I won’t bamboozle a 7-year-old! I hope my passion and education speak for myself, and I look forward to helping!

I am easy-going and non-judgemental. I tailor my tutoring to the student, with understanding, thoroughness, and open-mindedness. Being a University of York Literature graduate, I am well-versed in various different areas of literature. Be it Michael Morpurgo, Jane Austen, or Homer, I will be able to tackle any literature problems with confidence. I specialise in poetry, 20th C American literature, and Medieval literature. But I am more than willing, able, and happy to help with any areas. I do recommend sending me an outline of any relevant school work (i.e. books being studied, techniques and terms known/being taught) so I can access any necessary materials and then plan ahead for lessons. I am able to provide help for students from KS2 and upwards. So, whether you have a child who needs a bit of support with their ongoing lessons, a GCSE student who needs help writing essays, or you’re a university student who can’t get their heads around a particular concept, I am here to help! Lessons will last from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 depending on the student. I will initially start with looking at the weaker areas, and focus on strengthening those skills. As time progresses, we will then work together to use the new strengthened skills to work towards the end goal of the student. If necessary, I am also able to set tasks to be done outside of the lessons should they be needed.
