Teaching Methods
I use a personalized, engaging approach to reading instruction that meets each child where they are. My methods include phonics and decoding strategies to build strong foundational skills, fluency and comprehension techniques to help students read smoothly and understand what they read, vocabulary development to expand word knowledge through context, conversation, and engaging activities, and interactive, multisensory learning using games, storytelling, and technology to make reading fun.
Typical Lesson Plan
A session typically begins with a warm-up activity such as sight words, a phonics drill, or a fun word game. Guided reading follows, where students read aloud with targeted skill-building. We then focus on comprehension and discussion through questions, summarization, and real-life connections. Vocabulary and word work activities reinforce learning, and the session closes with a review of key concepts and goal-setting for the next lesson.
