My teaching approach uses rhythm-based techniques to help students improve timing, energy, and groove in their singing. Rhythm is the heartbeat of music, and I show students how to feel it in their body before they even sing a note. We work with clapping, stepping, and vocal exercises that build a strong internal pulse. I teach concepts like syncopation, beat subdivision, and rhythmic phrasing in styles such as gospel, funk, and jazz. For students who learn best through movement, creative play, or emotional connection, I provide a space where they can explore freely. We might improvise over loops, play with phrasing like an instrument, or respond to a beat with instinct rather than overthinking. This helps build musical confidence from the inside out. I adapt to each student’s learning style and musical background, turning rhythmic challenges into expressive tools. Together, we create a learning experience that feels alive, dynamic, and fun. Singing becomes more than hitting the right notes—it becomes a full-body, creative experience.
