Hello! My name's Lola, I'm a first-year law student at the University of Edinburgh, currently studying law. I've studied 20th-century world history for 4 years however and have a summer course degree for the same subject from Harvard University. I believe I would primarily be of use to secondary school students either interested in or studying the subjects and we can decide on the best course of study for you based on the kind of learner you are, and the topics on which you'd want to focus our lessons. I have a very firm belief in personalised learning so I'd like to get to know you as well as possible so that we can relate the topics to your day to day life to make it as understandable as possible for yourself.
I've was tutoring students in my own school for 3 years. 4 out of the 7 students I tutored have been accepted for history courses in Universities in the past year and have been accepted into Boston University, Yale University, University of California, Los Angeles and Brown University, respectively!
I started my secondary school education in York Preparatory School in Manhattan, New York and began studying history there. I then moved to United World College in Singapore in grade 11 and did History at a Higher level in the International Baccalaureate program. This intensive course gave me the skills I needed to take a History summer course at Harvard University in the summer of 2016, before my last year of secondary schooling. Through the past 3 years, I've also been tutoring other students in my own schools, as mentioned earlier and hence have a considerable amount of experience with the process. my experiences have allowed me to have a comprehensive understanding of different teaching styles and approaches, allowing myself to be a very versatile tutor.
