About Jessie
I have spent the last three years studying musical theatre at the prestigious Urdang Academy. This has allowed me to obtain a fresh and passionate approach to singing teaching across all genres of musical theatre, including legit, contemporary, ballads and uptempo, as well as pop/rock. Through frequently working with different coaches, with varying techniques, I have developed a toolkit of techniques, styles, characters and repertoire that is relevant and appropriate to the student.
I have gained hands-on experience through teaching singing for the last 4 years at Stagecoach, where I teach classes to students aged 4-17 as well as weekly 1-1 private sessions with multiple students.
I always strive to bring fun and laughter to all classes as the most improvement is always made when working in an exciting and encouraging environment. My classes are a judgement-free zone where each student's focus should never be to impress me but to impress themselves!

Personalised coaching to guide all levels of knowledge and experience towards their individual singing goals, whether that be auditions, competitions or just for fun. A friendly and supportive environment to make mistakes, laugh it off, discuss what to try differently next time and then give it another go and achieve that goal! Personalised and adaptable teaching methodologies as no two students, voices or lessons are the same; the priority is that if you feel your best you will learn the best! Lessons will develop strong and consistent vocal techniques, an in-depth understanding of storytelling and the intentions of a character through song while, most importantly, building confidence and a repertoire of songs to bash out whenever needed!
These lessons are targeted towards students aged 7+ and welcome all experiences and aspirations. Whether that be confidence building, singing exams or drama school auditions. Each lesson can be 30 minutes, 45 minutes or an hour. The ambition for every student is different and therefore the content of the class can change week to week focusing on building different skills to suit the student's goals. Each class will always begin with a vocal warm-up to introduce and build techniques while preparing the voice for the class; these techniques will then be refined and applied, working in the context of a chosen song. Some students thrive when working from an acting approach and therefore the intentions and storytelling of the character will be prioritised as a tool to develop the appropriate singing techniques and truthful delivery of the song. Classes will always end with a short reflection to discuss what was achieved and where to go moving forward into the next class. While this is the typical plan for each class, lesson plans are always able to be altered if during the class a discovery is made that leads the student to a new goal for the class.
