About Maya
Hi, I'm Maya and I am a current student at USC. I was born in Paris but grew up in Hong Kong and San Francisco, where I attended two bilingual schools. I've spoken French since I was 5 years old and was able to become confident in the language after a month with the help of exceptional teachers. Ever since then, I have wanted to give back and help others become proficient in the language and love teaching all subjects but specialize in French. I have at least 8 years of experience tutoring younger students and am currently studying French as a minor at USC. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

My lessons will fit your level of fluency and comprehension of French. They will begin with a basic conversation in French (catch up on the week and an opportunity to practice being comfortable speaking in French), followed by two grammar focuses and one to two verb conjugations. The lesson will finish with a small dictée and a clip of french TV/cinema to immerse in French pop culture. Depending on your level, I will assign a short book that we will read over the course of our lessons and during our lessons and assign a short essay/ rédaction at the end of the book to test comprehension. These lessons are mainly for beginner-intermediate speakers (primary school-high school students), but I would be more than happy to work with anyone!
