About Puneet

I am a USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK tutor, as well as a clinical skills instructor and recently graduated with an M.D. from a US medical school. I have extensive experience with the most frequently used resources to prepare for both exams. I have tutored 30+ students for approximately 20 – 40 hours each, with a 100% pass rate on Step 1 and all students experiencing a 20 – 30 point jump in their Step 2 CK scores.

About the lesson

The USMLE is designed to test topics that most of us as medical students and graduates have covered in the classroom. However, questions are often written in an unfamiliar manner with multiple concepts combined into a single prompt that may lead to confusion. I have spent hundreds of hours tutoring students in both the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK exams to not only review concepts and important facts, but to break down exactly how questions on these exams should be approached.

One of the most important areas we will work on is to understand, rather than memorize, the material. In addition to tips and tricks to recall information, we will look at each topic from its basic science foundation in order to easily recall the clinical significance and assure that those concepts will not be an issue when it comes to test day. In addition to truly understanding the material itself, I make sure that students are able to answer the following questions for each topic we review: determination of next best steps in clinical management, best treatment, most likely diagnosis, best diagnostic study, biggest risk factors, patient screening recommendations, as well as topics in biostatistics and medical ethics.

I look forward to working with you in order to share my experience with the material and test taking strategies that have been helpful to so many others in achieving success on their high-stakes exam.
