I was Mathi's specialist maths teacher in year 12. Mathi was the type of student who wasn't satisfied with simply being able to complete the assigned questions; it was important to him that he understand why things were done in a particular way and how various concepts were connected. I assume Mathi would have a similar approach as a maths tutor. This sets Mathi apart from most maths tutors who, in my experience, tend to focus more on getting students to practice procedural skills than on helping students to develop an overall understanding of the topic first before showing them how to complete questions related to that topic. I believe that Mathi would employ the latter approach and, as such, I am happy to recommend him as a maths or physics tutor.
