I believe that in mathematics and science, the key to success is fully understanding the basic concepts and then building complexity, rather than just attempting to wrote learn the material and formulas without understanding the reasoning behind it. Thus, my method of teaching is to help the student develop a deep understanding, by approaching questions from several different perspectives, ensuring the student understands why and how the answer is obtained.
