About Adeniyi

I am a versatile bass-baritone singer, composer, and educator with over 20 years of experience performing across a wide range of musical genres, including classical, opera, musical theater, jazz, pop, gospel, African music, and more. I currently serve as an Adjunct Voice Professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), where I bring my extensive performance, teaching, and academic experience into the training and development of singers.

I have nearly a decade of experience teaching voice and music theory, and I bring to each lesson a combination of professional performance experience, formal academic training, and a passion for helping students discover and develop their unique musical voices.

My musical education includes extensive study with some of the finest instructors at highly reputable institutions in the United States, culminating in a master’s degree in music. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Vocal Performance, Pedagogy, and Church Music, further expanding my expertise in vocal instruction, musicianship, performance, and worship ministry.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with numerous directors and conductors and performing lead roles in operas, musical theater productions, concerts, and recitals. I have also performed as a soloist at numerous social and special events and alongside bands and professional artists representing a variety of musical styles, including jazz, pop, gospel, and African music.

In addition to performing and teaching, I lead and direct worship music on a weekly basis, train worship leaders and choirs, and compose and produce original music and musical theater. My experience in both classical and contemporary music allows me to offer students a well-rounded approach to vocal development and musicianship.

Among my recent honors, I received First Place in the TTBB category of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Greater Philadelphia Chapter competition in 2021, among other recognitions throughout my musical career.

As a playwright and composer, one of my passions is bringing together my African cultural heritage and my Western classical music training. This vision inspired my original Christmas musical, We Need a Savior (A One-Man Musical), which premiered in December 2021 and was subsequently produced in Massachusetts and New Jersey in 2022.

My second musical, Renewal: Addressing Conflicts in Marriage From the Perspective of the Gospel, premiered in September 2023 and has since been presented at multiple locations across several states in the United States.

Whether you are interested in classical singing, contemporary styles, gospel, worship leading, musical theater, jazz, African music, or simply want to become a more confident and well-rounded musician, I tailor my lessons to your individual goals and experience. My goal is not simply to teach students how to sing or understand music theory, but to equip them with the knowledge, technique, confidence, and musicianship needed to express themselves authentically and reach their full musical potential.

I teach singers at every level, from beginners to advanced vocalists, and in virtually any genre or musical style. Whether you are just discovering your voice, preparing for performances, strengthening your technique, or looking to expand your versatility, I will tailor your training to meet your unique needs and goals.

My approach combines trusted, time-tested vocal techniques with practical musicianship training designed to help you develop versatility, agility, flexibility, vocal strength, and range. We can work on everything from improving vocal technique and musicality to developing confidence, strengthening your musicianship, and restoring a fatigued or deteriorating voice.

Every lesson is goal-oriented, personalized, and results-driven, in your desired genres. I will help you develop the skills and confidence to sing effectively and authentically in the music you love.

Most importantly, our lessons will be productive, engaging, and enjoyable. We’ll have fun, make quality music, and work together toward meaningful results. I would be honored to help you discover what your voice can do and take your singing to the next level.
