About Alexander Julian
Jazz is what got me serious about the saxophone. I practiced like mad, and found myself in some of the best ensembles nationwide, notably SFJazz and the CBDA All-State Jazz band. While I chose not to pursue a music degree in college, I found myself immersed in the Bay Area scene and falling more in love with the music, leading me to pursue a full-time professional career playing the saxophone. My mentors along the way are what enabled me to realize these goals; I would be honored to be a part of your saxophone journey!!

I believe that technique is foundational to gaining proficiency on any instrument. I also believe that finding who and what captivates YOU on the instrument is crucial to maintaining a steady passion for playing.
Setting goals in your practice is imperative to making regular improvements. My lessons emphasize these principles for students of all levels; my aim is to help you find your inspiration, and to improve your ability to musically express yourself.
