About Uday
Hi, I'm Uday! I graduated from the Business School at the University of Maryland, College Park, and am currently a graduate student at CalArts pursuing an MFA in Film Directing. Having switched majors in college and taken my fair share of electives, I've noticed my curiosity sparked in some unexpected classrooms. Over time, I realized this had less to do with the subject matter itself and more to do with how it was being presented.
My favorite instructors were engaged, attentive to student needs, and welcoming to questions. Above all, they emphasized clarity and simplicity in their teaching. I have strived to replicate these qualities in my personal instruction, from running my own class at the University of Maryland's Honors College, to working with large groups of students as a teaching assistant for various entrepreneurship courses, to creating tutorial videos and documentation for clients at the startups I've worked for out of college. In other words, no matter what I am teaching, you can count on me to be attentive, patient, and committed to making the tutoring experience as pleasant and enjoyable as I can.

While I believe in always having a structured lesson plan to guide instruction, every student learns differently, and so I find it invaluable to push my students to continually refine and integrate personal methods of learning that will serve them long after they leave me. My typical lesson will be oriented around two or three central goals to accomplish, keeping them reasonable so that I leave plenty of time in the rest of the session for questions, feedback and review of the previous weeks' homework. I always make sure to settle into each session talking about life outside work as well, to the degree that you’re comfortable!
