About Bonnie
I have tutored many students with a variety of needs: dyslexia, dysgraphia, autism, ADHD, and dyscalculia and more. I adapt my lessons to meet the specific needs of each student. I do not automatically do the exact same thing with everyone. I observe and take note of the strengths and weaknesses of each individual and build on that. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing lives literally changed when children and adults alike realize they can finally READ!

I have an M. Ed. in Special Education and training in the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading, spelling and handwriting. I tutor K-5 through adult and have been tutoring for over 10 years. Having a son with ADHD, I am very understanding and patient with students with special needs. I am also very good at giving encouragement and helping them to believe they can succeed! I help them overcome the feelings of failure and rejection they often experience because of their reading difficulties.
