About Ian

Although I have many years experience, I have always been passionate about the arts... and (thankfully) I have remained so - so it is this passion for both, learning and teaching that have me keen to 'pass on' to others and see them grow in skills and confidence. As mentioned, I have a degree in Fine Art and although I have continued painting, illustrating and (graphic) designing as a professional, I have also 'added' many other professional 'arty skills' over the years - including Video (recording and editing), animation / motion and 3D (modeling, animating and 3D printing) - All of which explains the 'Multimedia' title. Much of my experience has been working for several well-known international agencies (up to Art and Creative Director positions), universities (as mentioned), plus I have produced and consulted for several major internationals - (numerous online samples of my work available)

About the lesson

I have been teaching through the UK SuperProf for several years and now returned to South Africa to continue teaching and helping, using those skills I have acquired over many years - Digital and Traditional.

... I like to 'project teach' - where I take my students from 'A to Z' in whatever medium - (hence my being a 'multimedia creative')

... Although I know a little Afrikaans (and Swahili - from my Kenyan upbringing), I am essentially English, so would teach in English..

... I believe that learning should be enjoyable, so I like my classes to be relaxed and fun, while still being educational and informative - (and that might mean including other media and/or software, if needed)

... I have taught the very young, but my students usually range from Matric level to mature adults. - (Quite varied in age and 'ability'). I
