About Ivy
I earned a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance and Ensemble Training after years of focused study in orchestral collaboration, instrumental technique, and musical interpretation during my academic training. During the past 10 years, I have worked with students from different musical backgrounds and experience levels, helping them improve through personalised instruction and encouraging mentorship. Teaching violin allows me to combine creativity, discipline, and emotional communication in a deeply meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners become more expressive and confident musicians through artistic growth.
My teaching approach focuses on adaptability, patience, and balanced musical development. Some students improve best through structured repetition and technical exercises, while others respond more naturally to expressive exploration and creative interpretation. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s comfort level, confidence, and artistic goals. Along with technical improvement, I help students strengthen listening ability, rhythmic awareness, expressive control, and performance readiness. Building a welcoming and motivating learning atmosphere remains one of my highest priorities as an educator.
Outside teaching, I continue practising violin, studying orchestral repertoire, and exploring educational approaches that help keep lessons inspiring and engaging. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing students become more self-assured and expressive throughout their musical journey. Helping learners enjoy music while developing long-term violin skills continues to inspire me greatly.

My violin lessons focus on helping students strengthen technical ability while developing expressive confidence and musical understanding through structured and supportive instruction. I teach posture, bow control, finger placement, intonation, rhythm accuracy, tone production, and phrasing using practical exercises that feel approachable for learners at every level. Lessons also include scale work, ear training, sight-reading activities, performance preparation, and interpretation studies that help students improve naturally through consistent practice. I create a calm and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring music while building strong violin foundations step by step. Every lesson supports both technical development and artistic individuality together.
Beginners focus on instrument posture, open string exercises, bow handling, and simple melodies through organised routines and patient guidance that build healthy playing habits gradually. Intermediate learners improve smoother bow transitions, intonation accuracy, rhythmic consistency, and expressive phrasing through guided studies and structured exercises. Advanced students work on advanced repertoire refinement, emotional interpretation, performance confidence, and stage preparation through detailed coaching sessions. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, personality, and musical interests so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning process.
Learning violin should feel expressive, rewarding, and meaningful. I encourage students to appreciate gradual improvement while building confidence through supportive feedback and regular practice. Many learners become more disciplined and emotionally expressive as their musical understanding develops naturally over time. My goal is to help students strengthen both technical ability and artistic confidence while building a lasting connection with music.
