About Nidia

Music exists as a language I have studied since long before I earned my Master of Music in Guitar performance from the Manhattan School of Music. My work shifted toward teaching after I realized that the best way to understand a subject is to explain it to someone else.

I currently work with students on left-hand agility, music theory, classical repertoire, rhythm and timing, grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity, and tuning by ear. I keep things direct because I genuinely want you to trust your own reasoning by the end of our time together. I am a patient mentor who prioritizes your ability to articulate the logic behind every note you play. Let us get to work on your technique.

About the lesson

Clarity comes from identifying exactly where a student is stuck, which is why I start with a diagnostic assessment before setting the practice plan. This approach allows me to address specific hurdles with left hand agility or rhythm and timing immediately. My training at the Manhattan School of Music informs how I break down complex classical repertoire into manageable segments. I like to think of this process as peeling back layers of a song until the structure becomes intuitive.

We focus on theory and ear training to ensure you are not just mimicking sounds but truly understanding the music. I find that this method builds confidence much faster than rote memorization alone. I look forward to hearing you play.
